Born in Tokyo, Japan, Yasuo Watani is a Music Professor for Harmonica at Senzoku-Gakuen Music University of Japan and is one of the world’s leading chromatic harmonica soloists. Having studied the harmonica at the HOHNER Conservatory in Trossingen, Yasuo Watani holds several prizes such as the First place at the International Harmonica Competiton in the Netherlands, 2nd place at the World Harmonica Festival and many more.
Lecturer at the HOHNER Conservatory until 2002, Watani is busy performing with various orchestras including the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, Japan Shinsei Symphony Orchestra among many others.
