Chris Kramer

Chris Kramer, born in 1970, is a German blues musician, virtuoso harmonica player and singer-songwriter from Dortmund. The five-time winner of the "German Blues Awards" in the category "Best Blues-Harp"(2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020) is equally regarded as a charismatic singer and creative fountain of never-ending ideas. However, he sees himself first and foremost quite simply as a storyteller!

Chris Kramer's intention has always been to use the harmonica beyond the blues in different genres, so that even the Belgian harmonica grandmaster Toots Thielemans said:" Chris, you really take your harmonica on a Journey!"  And TV and radio host Götz Alsmann writes: "Chris Kramer's fascinating CD can become a big step on the way to redefine the whole context of harmonica playing!"

National as well as international colleagues like to work regularly with the likeable Ruhrpottler and rave in the highest notes.

Mel Gaynor (drummer of Simple Minds) praises his versatility, Chuck Leavell (pianist of the Rolling Stones) said about him: "Oh man, what an amazing harp player!", Jack Bruce, the bass player of "Cream", called him "Master of the blues harp" and Pinetop Perkins and Willie "Big Eyes" Smith of the legendary Muddy Waters Band agree: "He is a remarkable musician."

Peter Maffay booked Chris Kramer for several tours and a studio production and was equally impressed with him:

Jürgen von der Lippe invited the harmonica virtuoso to appear on his Saturday night show "Geld oder Liebe," introducing him to an audience of millions.

His novel character "The Little Harmonica" not only experiences all kinds of exciting adventures, but also encourages children to make music themselves and regularly comes up with "meaningful thoughts", trying to promote tolerance, respect and human coexistence in addition to music!

Chris Kramer is personally concerned about the musical ecouragement of children and young people and for this reason founded the "charitable Chris Kramer Foundation" in 2012. The aim of the foundation is to promote art and culture, especially music. Chris Kramer is committed to the foundation's projects on many levels.

Chris Kramer is still live on stage 100 evenings a year in Germany, Norway, Spain and Switzerland. Mostly with his current band "Chris Kramer & Beatbox 'n' Blues", together with two-time German beatbox champion Kevin O Neal and guitar dervish Sean Athens, both of whom are also involved in his numerous children's projects.

Together, they have set out to bring the blues into the present day, enriching it with rock and hip-hop.
